The Start of My Digital Journey

The Start of My Digital Journey

July 2024, I was just over 1 year out from my second knee replacement that followed promptly on the heels of the first, just 5 months later. I was only 54 years old when the having first surgery had become an absolute necessity.

As you can imagine, having severe knee pain and significant deterioration since my early 40’s made it extremely difficult to have a job where being on my feet was required. I am an urban farmer, but I could take breaks. That last summer of 2022 before replacements was difficult with bone on bone grinding away, and that’s putting it gently.

I had muddled through working for a massive online retailer that we all know in one of their warehouses, but it was part-time and the worldwide pandemic of 2020 gave me an opportunity to walk away from that position after two and a half years. It was time.

But being a one income family in a two (or three or four now!) income world makes life more difficult than most would ever want to admit. I’ve fretted over finances my whole life. We’d survived complete financial devastation in the past…the housing crisis of 2008 left my banking auditor husband unemployed for most of 2009, with four young children, an upside down mortgage and a total bankruptcy on our permanent file.

If we’d survived that, I knew God could bring us through anything.

Still, the weight of debt is a heavy one.

I’d researched working from home because we only have one vehicle and it’s kinda pointless to go get a job for only $14-$15 an hour and have to pick up another car payment. The point was to get OUT of debt!

Customer service jobs from home paid about that much, but I knew there had to be something better…something that my skills and talents were a better fit for. And yes, I’d tried over the years to make money as an urban farmer, but really, exactly how many $3 plants or $5 per dozen eggs would you have to sell to get out of some serious debt?

Enter The Legacy Builders’ Program! (Additional information available below)

My husband’s cousin’s wife, whom I mostly saw only on occasion on Facebook was making a tremendous amount of money with this program. I couldn’t quite grasp the concept of what was going on, but I knew she was making good money.

Turns out, it’s an e-learning program that teaches you how to build an online business in digital marketing. My concerns of getting trapped into an MLM or get-rich-quick scheme were quickly allayed as Marti explained the premise to me.

You purchase the program and with it you are given the Master Resale Rights (aka MRR). This means as long as you don’t claim that you wrote it and don’t modify it, you can sell the program at 100% profit. Seeing Marti’s success, I spoke with Dale, my husband, and together, we decided I’d take the plunge into the online marketing space.

Little did I know the adventure that awaited me!

I’m going to wrap this up for now, but I’ll leave you with this conundrum: When God uses a digital marketing business to completely strip you down of everything you ever thought you knew about yourself and how you interact with the world, do you file those lessons under “My Digital Journey” or “My Spiritual Journey”.

For now, please believe me when I say, at the writing of this, my first post, I now have enough content to fill BOTH categories with content for weeks, maybe even months to come!

Join me back here as I travel this remembrance road, and as I’ve started saying in my social media content: “We’re all going to get there together…one step at a time.”

You are loved.
